Journal Policies

The Academic Journal of Medical Sciences (AJMS) is committed to maintaining high standards of editorial quality,
ethical publishing, transparency, and long‑term accessibility. This page provides an overview of the journal’s
core policies that guide editorial decisions, publication practices, and author responsibilities.

Plagiarism Policy

AJMS has a zero‑tolerance policy toward plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection tools.
Plagiarism includes copying text, ideas, images, or data without proper citation, as well as self‑plagiarism.
Manuscripts containing significant plagiarism will be rejected immediately.

Duplicate and Redundant Publication

Manuscripts must not be under consideration by another journal at the time of submission.
Duplicate or redundant publication—publishing the same data or study in more than one journal—is strictly prohibited.
Authors must disclose any related manuscripts or overlapping data.

Data Sharing and Transparency

AJMS encourages authors to make their research data available for verification and reuse when appropriate.
Authors may deposit datasets in institutional repositories or recognized data archives.
Statements regarding data availability should be included in the manuscript when applicable.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright for open access articles published under the Creative Commons Attribution‑NoDerivatives 4.0
International License (CC BY‑ND 4.0). For non‑open access articles, copyright remains with AJMS.
Authors are responsible for obtaining permission for any copyrighted material used in their manuscripts.

Retraction and Correction Policy

AJMS follows COPE guidelines for retractions, corrections, and expressions of concern.
Articles may be retracted for major ethical violations, data manipulation, plagiarism, or serious methodological errors.
Minor errors that do not affect the overall conclusions may be corrected through an erratum.

Privacy and Confidentiality
