The Academic Journal of Medical Sciences (AJMS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scholarly integrity.
All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous peer review process to ensure scientific quality, originality, ethical compliance,
and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Review Model

AJMS uses a single-blind peer review system. Reviewers remain anonymous to the authors,
while authors’ identities are visible to reviewers. This model is widely used in medical and clinical journals
and supports a fair and unbiased evaluation process.

Initial Editorial Screening

Upon submission, each manuscript is screened by the editorial office to ensure:

• Compliance with AJMS Author Guidelines
• Relevance to the journal’s scope
• Scientific and ethical integrity
• Absence of plagiarism or duplicate publication
• Proper formatting and completeness of required documents

Manuscripts that do not meet basic requirements may be returned to authors for correction before peer review.

Assignment to Reviewers

Manuscripts that pass initial screening are assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers
with relevant expertise. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:

• Originality and scientific merit
• Methodological rigor
• Clarity of presentation
• Validity of results and conclusions
• Ethical compliance
• Contribution to the field

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers are expected to:

• Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback
• Maintain confidentiality of all manuscript materials
• Disclose any conflicts of interest
• Identify ethical concerns, plagiarism, or data manipulation
• Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection

Editorial Decision

The Editor-in-Chief reviews all reviewer comments and makes the final decision. Possible outcomes include:

• Accept
• Minor Revision
• Major Revision
• Reject

Authors must address all reviewer comments and resubmit revised manuscripts within the specified timeframe.
Revised manuscripts may undergo additional rounds of review.

Ethical Compliance

AJMS follows the ethical guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE),
and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME). Any form of plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or unethical research practices
will result in immediate rejection and possible sanctions.

Appeals Process

Authors who disagree with an editorial decision may submit a formal appeal to the Editor-in-Chief.
Appeals must include a detailed justification and evidence supporting the request.
The Editor-in-Chief may consult additional reviewers before issuing a final decision.

Confidentiality

All manuscripts, reviewer identities, and editorial communications are treated as confidential.
Reviewers and editors must not share or use manuscript content for personal or professional advantage.
